About the Faculty

The Faculty of Geography and Biology has tailored its teaching offer to the needs of the dy- namically changing labour market. The courses in Geography and Biology with teaching credentials offered by the faculty provide reliable, verified and continuously updated training for graduates who will become competent teachers and educators at all levels of education. In addition, there are courses in the fields of Tourism and Recreation, Space Management, Bioinformatics, Environmental Protection, and Biological Rejuvenation. Students have the opportunity to further their academic endeavours in faculty doctoral studies in Biology and Geography. Research in the field of geoscience includes the following: changes in the geographical environment caused by human activities, sustainable development, and demographic as well as socio-economic transformation. The life sciences research is oriented toward topics in the field of biological sciences. These studies focus primarily on issues in the fields of: Systematic Zoology and Botany, Human, Animal and Plant Physiology, Environmental Protection, Cell Biology, Genetics and Biochemistry.
