Sonnet V

On These Words of Job:
Homo natus da muliere brevi vivens tempore

Conceived in shame, his life in pain begun,
Man lives here in this world only briefly
Mid changes, miserably, fearfully;
He'll perish - a shadow left by the sun.

And from such a man (O infinite Lord,
Living in and for Yourself in glory
And joy), You demand almost avidly
To be shown love and want to be adored.

The works of Your mercy are true wonders.
The Cherubim (the abyss of wisdom)
Regards them marveling and from here burns
In happy love the true flame, Seraphim.

O holy Lord, grant us, let us have, too,
What you command, and return it to you.
